Day of Shopping

The bridesmaid dress from Chris’ older sister’s wedding arrived this week, so we went to pick it up. Luckily, I thought to try it on and make sure it’s the right size before I left the store. Everything is ok, except for the straps. In this photo, the straps look like they’re going up and down, but in reality, the yellow version I originally tried on to see if it fit and the dress that I recieved had straps that angled outwards like a “V” shape. The straps were not only uneven, but way too long. So I had to get it altered. It’s supposed to be a knee length skirt, but it’s a little long on me since I’m a shorty. But I didn’t want to spend the extra money to get it hemmed. I’m going to look like a shorty next to the family anyway. All the women are at least 5′10″. So it will be back on December 5, which is plenty of time before the wedding. The color of the dress she picked is azalea. You can click on their little flash doohicky to see the color. The actual color of the dress is a little darker than that.

We’re supposed to wear silver strappy shoes with the dress, so we went shopping as well. I found a really cute pair at DSW by Guess, a brand that I don’t normally wear, mostly because I feel too old to pull off some of those clothes. It’s all uber-shiny and everything.

They only had a 6 in stock. I normally wear a 6.5 or a 7. But I tried on a pair if 6.5 in gold, but the only difference was that the to portion was longer. They weren’t any wider than the 6 that I had. So I just went with the size 6. Aren’t they adorable?
