Ling Laments: Go Naturally Organic Candy

At the same time that I bought the Torie and Howard candy, I also bought the Go Naturally Organic Hard Candies as well. I didn’t expect to like one more than the other, but it turned out that I did and it all came down to it Go Naturally’s consistency.

I don’t know if you’ve ever had any candy that was like really really old, but you know it’s old because the outside is kind of mushy while the center is still hard? When you popped it into your mouth, you could just chew off that outer layer without any issues.

Well, that’s how the consistency of this candy was like. I felt like it was old candy even though the expiration date was over a year off.

I’m wondering if it’s because the first ingredient is evaporated cane sugar. Maybe the cane sugar got reconstituted due to Florida’s humid weather. These candies weren’t vacuum sealed, after all. It was merely in a little bag. It could also very well be that I got a bad bag. But the since the whole bag was like that, I’m inclined to think that this is normal for the brand. Either way, it reminded me of expired candy and I won’t be getting it again. It’s sad too because the flavor was nice.
